St. Paul's Good Sam Committee
The Good Sam Committee is a centerpiece of St. Paul's outreach ministries. Its purpose is the parish coordination of Christ's mandate to serve those in need. This committee is responsible for making decisions regarding the allocation of St. Paul's tithing (10 percent of the parish's annual income). St. Paul's currently provides financial support to about thirty (30) organizations. In addition to financial support, Good Sam manages service and giving opportunities for our parish community. The monthly food drive, St. Peter & Paul's Kitchen, The Advent Giving Tree and "Operation Rice Bowl" (Lent) all fall within the auspices of The Good Sam Committee.Educating our parish regarding the needs of the less fortunate, Good Sam distributes information and often includes speakers at their meetings (from sponsored organizations or new groups appealing for assistance). New members are always welcome, either to join our regular meetings or to help with any of our special projects.
